Venaya is a manual-first finance tracker. We store only what you enter, protect it with industry-standard encryption, and never sell it. Here is the full picture.
Encrypted at rest
Your data is stored in Supabase (SOC 2 Type II certified), encrypted with AES-256 at rest and TLS in transit.
Hosted in Europe
All data is stored in EU data centres. Venaya is built in Switzerland and follows Swiss and European privacy standards.
You own your data
You can export or permanently delete all your data at any time from Settings. We do not sell your financial data.
In plain terms
- ✓Your data is yours. We don't sell it, share it with advertisers, or profile you.
- ✓Venaya stores only what you add — transactions, budgets, goals, and preferences.
- ✓No bank credentials are ever requested. Bank sync (if added) will be opt-in only.

Who we are
Venaya is a personal finance application built to help individuals track spending, set goals, and understand their financial health. The service is operated from Switzerland.
What we collect
We collect only what you choose to add: your email address (for account authentication), onboarding answers (life stage, currency, goals), manually entered transactions, budgets, goals, and preferences. We also collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and performance monitoring.
What we do not collect
Venaya does not ask for your bank login credentials. We do not connect to your bank, credit card, or financial institution in the current product. Bank sync, if offered in the future, will use a regulated third-party provider and will always be opt-in.
How your data is used
Your data is used exclusively to power your Venaya dashboard, calculate your Venaya Score, generate personalised insights, and improve the product. We do not use your financial data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.
AI features
Venaya's Coach and receipt scanning features send minimal context to Anthropic's API to generate responses. This data is subject to Anthropic's privacy policy. No personally identifiable financial records are shared beyond the context needed to answer your question.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored in Supabase, which is SOC 2 Type II certified. Data is encrypted with AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.2+ in transit. Access to your data is protected by row-level security policies — no other user can access your records.
Data sharing
We do not sell your data. We share data only with essential service providers needed to run Venaya: Supabase (database and auth), Vercel (hosting), Anthropic (AI features), and Stripe (payments, where applicable). Each provider is subject to their own privacy commitments.
Your GDPR rights
If you are located in the EU or EEA, you have the right to access, correct, export, restrict processing of, or permanently delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@venaya.app. We will respond within 30 days.
Cookies
Venaya uses only essential cookies needed for authentication and session management. We use Vercel Analytics for anonymous, aggregate traffic measurement. You can decline non-essential cookies via the banner shown on first visit.
Data retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personally identifiable financial data is removed within 30 days, except where legal retention obligations apply.
Children
Venaya is not directed at users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Venaya adds new features or enters new markets. Material changes will be communicated by email and via an in-app notice before taking effect.
